Adding a New Opportunity

Use the Insert Opportunity dialog box to enter opportunity information and to add, edit, or remove products, competitors, or contacts. You can also update opportunity currency and rate if you have Multi-Currency enabled.

To insert a new opportunity

  1. On the New menu, click Opportunity.
  2. Account - Click the Find button to find the account to be associated with the opportunity.
  3. Enter information in the Opportunity information boxes.

Based on your Opportunity Options, some boxes may already be completed.

The Sales Process box will be unavailable if the SalesLogix Advanced bundle is not installed.

  1. Add any products, competitors, or contacts.
  2. Click Update to save the opportunity and close the view, or click Save & New to save the current opportunity, and then open a new opportunity.
  3. Use the Snapshot on the Opportunity Detail view to add a sales potential.
