Opportunity Snapshot

You can view opportunity value and summary information about the selected opportunity in the Opportunity Snapshot in the top section of the Opportunity Detail view. You can edit the information as needed.

You can use the Copy Opp Info to E-mail hyperlink to send an e-mail with the opportunity information already entered into the e-mail body. The information copied into the e-mail includes the Opportunity description, Account name, Account Manager name, Reseller name, estimated close date, close probability, and comments. Additionally, it includes Product, Competitor, and Contact information, as well as value and summary information from the Opportunity Snapshot.

To copy Opportunity information into an e-mail

  1. From the Opportunities List view, click an Opportunity Description.

The Opportunity Detail view appears.

  1. In the Opportunity Snapshot box, click Copy Opp Info to Email.

Microsoft Outlook opens and a copy of the current Opportunity's information appears in the e-mail.

The information that appears in the Opportunity Snapshot depends on the opportunity status.

Value section

Item Description Can User Edit?
Sales Potential The total revenue to be gained by the opportunity. The sum of all of the associated products.

Click the hyperlink to edit the sales potential.

Weighted The Sales Potential multiplied by the Probability. No
Currency (Multi-Currency Only) The opportunity currency type and conversion rate that was set in your opportunity options. It also displays the sales potential converted to the opportunity currency type and rate.

Click the hyperlink to Update Currency type and rate.

Exchange Rate (Multi-Currency Only) Displays the exchange rate if the opportunity was created using a different currency type. No
Exchange Rate Date (Multi-Currency Only) Displays the date that the currency was set. No

Select the check box to save the current exchange rate for this opportunity. Yes

Summary section

Opened The number of days since the date the opportunity was opened, the opened-on date, and the number of days since the last activity.

The sales process stage that the opportunity is in. No
Type The category of the opportunity. Your company defines the types of opportunities.

Source Name or description of the lead source, such as magazine or Web inquiry, that generated the opportunity.
